Welcome to the Blues in Business website. We are a group of business people from various industries, with one thing in common – we support Manchester City. Football fandom might seem like an unusual starting point for a business network but, as any footy fan will tell you, a shared love of the beautiful game creates a wonderful sense of community.
We are an officially registered organisation with the club and, in true City spirit, building community is what we’re all about. Our aim is simple: we meet 4 times a year for lunch, drinks and laughs, always on a Friday afternoon, at venues across Manchester city centre. Whenever possible (usually once a year), we gather at the Etihad Stadium, to soak up the ambience of our club.
We run a relaxed ship, bringing together like-minded supporters in a warm and friendly environment. The meetings always include a quality lunch in some of Manchester’s finest establishments and a guest speaker associated with Manchester City. Past speakers have included Shaun Goater, Andy Morrison and Joe Royle, to name but a few. There is usually a raffle of MCFC memorabilia – often donated by other members – with proceeds going to support local charities. Each meeting also provides an opportunity for the members to speak for a few minutes and introduce their businesses.
On top of the scheduled events, we have organised trips to Wembley for Cup Finals (not including tickets), and there are plans afoot to hold other charity fundraising events, such as golf days and dinner dances.
We are a not-for-profit organisation and 100% of proceeds generated from our events are donated to the sponsor’s nominated charity. If you would like to sponsor an event, please get in touch via our contact page.

The Offside Rule
Like all organisations we have rules and expectations for our community.
Membership and participation in our events are subject a code of conduct, which you can view in full here.
It is important that we all understand that we represent both our own businesses and Manchester City Football Club, if not formally then by association. It is therefore incumbent on us all to consider these facts when we engage with Blues in Business and to act accordingly, with respect. The management committee reserves the right to choose not to associate BiB with any individual or business who might bring us or the Club into disrepute. This includes behaviour at events and on the BiB WhatsApp group.
With the code of conduct in mind, we operate a football-related yellow and red card warning system – if you know your football, you can work it out!
