Rest in Peace Amanda Jane Longdon: Born 1962 – Passed September 2025

A dedicated member of Blues in Business, Amanda had a strong connection to the club.

Amanda joined Manchester City in 1989. She was the PA to Peter Swales and Bernard Halford. Amanda constantly told stories about the happy times she had at the club and the good friends she made, some of the staff experiences involving players and managers would not be possible in this day and age but she told funny tales about nights out and trips to away games, and handling requests for match tickets.

Amanda served under the managers Mel Machin Howard Kendal, Peter Reid and Brian Horton, she left in 1995 when Francis Lee took over, somewhat disillusioned with the changes at the club, she never lost her passion for the Blues.

Following her ime at City Amanda went in to work for Sale rugby club, followed by Ellesse, and eventually set up her own successful HR business in 2005.

Amanda sadly passed away in September after a brave battle with cancer, she will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
